Greetings Families,
I am humbled and honored to introduce myself as the newly appointed principal of D.L. Sims Elementary School for the 2023-2024 school year. I feel incredibly privileged to lead a school that has a legacy of success, an engaged and committed community, and many points of pride. I share D.L. Sims’ commitment to creating and fostering a safe and secure learning environment that will create an atmosphere for continuous academic growth, and I am excited to begin working together!

 I have served as an educator for over twenty years as a teacher, lead gifted teacher, RTI Coordinator, and most recently as the Assistant Principal at Flat Shoals Elementary in Rockdale County Public Schools. I attended Georgia Southern University where I earned my bachelor’s in Early Childhood Education. From there, I went on to earn a master’s degree in Counseling and Psychology from Troy State and University, a specialist’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Nova Southeastern University, and a specialist in Educational Leadership from Georgia College and State University. 

I truly believe that ALL scholars have the potential to learn and achieve at high levels. As your principal, I am committed to ensuring that our children continue to receive a quality education in an academically rich, instructionally engaging, and nurturing learning environment that supports this belief. In doing so, we will continue to ignite a passion for learning that will last a lifetime! 

As we begin the school year, please know that my door is always open to you, and I sincerely welcome your input and support. It is a great time to be a stallion, and I look forward to us collectively using our “passion, intelligence, and courage” to ensure the success of EVERY scholar in our school!
