Meet Our Assistant Principal 

I am excited to join the D. L. Sims Elementary school family as the assistant principal for the 2023-2024 school yearAs an educator, I value opportunities to build relationships with scholars, parents, and staff members to ensure success for all.  I embrace problem-solution oriented collaboration, that will allow all stakeholders to align to the vision and mission of our school.  

As part of my professional journey, I have been afforded to serve in Rockdale County Public Schools (RCPS) for the past 16 years in various capacities, including as an assistant principal (five and half years), instruction coach (one and a half years), and classroom teacher (eight years)I began my teaching career in Dekalb County Public Schools I attended Georgia State University, where I received my Bachelor of Science in Early Elementary Education, Master of Education from Strayer University, and both my Educational Specialist degree and my Educational Doctorate degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Lincoln Memorial University.  

My commitment is to working diligently, to ensure the academic and social success of the scholars at Sims Elementary and leading and learning with the amazing teaching staff membersIt is my belief that demonstrating a positive example through my communications and my actions, will promote a positive educational environment.  

I am eagerly looking forward to meeting many of our school community stakeholders and working to support the best interests and needs of our scholars and teachers.  My professional and personal goal is to help create a supportive learning community and to be a leader committed to helping scholars maximize their potential while enjoying school.    I am looking forward to an amazing school year.
