Meeting Minutes

Report of the Principal-Title I Budget, Fall STAR Data and School Improvement Plan.  The 2020-2021 SES Title I Budget has decreased to $144,360 from $156,816 (SY19-20). The budget decreased to the computer software being eliminated. The Title I budget at Sims covers salaries of 2 paraprofessionals and an Academic Coach. The budget has been approved by RCPS and is aligned to Sims' School Improvement Plan. Ms. Beckett reviewed the data analysis and root cause analysis

Presentation to Council: Discussion for incentives for teachers for Thanksgiving and Christmas Presented by Mrs. Fountain- There are 78 SES Staff members

In the past, there's been an off-site catered event. Staff have received gifts such as tumblers, bracelets. It was funded by the principal's account. $14,000 in the principal's account. Facility-$550 Catering- $1,000 Gifts- $800-1,000 Roughly about $3,000

Gift cards are not allowed to be purchased through the principal's account.

Boxed lunches distributed by drive-by has happened on 2 occasions. Ms. Beckett shared a movie night/parking lot idea she obtained the idea from Heritage High School. Mr. Ahmad suggested getting a weekly restaurant voucher/certificate. He suggested talking to Target, Walmart, or a local restaurant for support.

Holiday Celebration- Gift and Meal

Thanksgiving- Gift (Sweatshirt or Cardigan)

Ms. Beasley- Weather permitting-Agrees that the movie idea would be a nice idea. Perhaps a Pajama and Polar Express.
