Hey everyone! I’m Ms. Nicole C, Porter, and I’m thrilled to be your Assistant Principal at Sims Elementary. I started my educational journey with an undergraduate degree in Family and Child Development from Georgia Southern University. Then, I earned a graduate degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Central Michigan University and a specialist degree in Leadership from Lincoln Memorial University. All this learning has helped me become a better leader and educator.

I’ve been in education for over 22 years. Throughout that time, I have served in many capacities, including but not limited to, grade level chair, mentor to new and future teachers, model classroom instructor, an Instructional Coach, teaching grades 5th through 7th, and serving as an Assistant Principal for one year. I love helping students and teachers succeed, and I’m here to make sure the students have the best school experience possible.

I believe our school should be a place where everyone feels welcome and can do their best. I’m all about promoting academic excellence, social-emotional learning, and building a strong community. I know that each student has amazing potential, and I’m here to support them every step of the way.

When I’m not at school, I love shopping, traveling, and reading. I’m also a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., where I get to participate in community service and leadership activities.
